Very nice white marble fireplace from Carrara marble. Carrara is a place in Italy that is world-famous because of the beautiful marble that comes from the quarries. The chimney is flanked with 'trois scallops', or three shells. In the middle is the large shell and on the sides it comes back in a smaller version. The legs are richly decorated with Acanthus leaves and various ornaments.
