Our old terracotta tiles (reference T100) are reclaimed from historic farmhouses and manor houses across the French countryside. Unlike modern reproductions, these antique floor tiles were shaped and fired by hand more than 150 years ago, leaving each piece with subtle marks of age and craftsmanship. The orange–salmon shades vary gently from tile to tile, a natural result of clay rich in iron oxides.

Every batch is carefully lifted during demolition by our own team, transported to our workshop, and cleaned one by one. The result: reclaimed terracotta flooring that is consistent in size and ready to install, while still preserving its historic irregularities and patina.

Use & Placement

These reclaimed terracotta floor tiles are designed for interior use. They are not frost-proof, but they are ideal for kitchens, dining rooms, hallways, and living spaces. Covered outdoor settings such as a veranda are also possible. Their warm, earthy colours combine naturally with limestone, oak, or steel elements, making them suitable for both rustic country homes and modern conversions.

Thanks to their thickness and durability, antique terracotta tiles work perfectly with underfloor heating. Once sealed with the correct impregnator, they are highly practical, resistant to stains, and easy to maintain.

Shipping & Care

At De Opkamer, we handle every stage of preparation in-house. The tiles are stacked and crated securely in wooden boxes, with additional spare pieces included for peace of mind. Within Europe, we deliver by our own trucks or long-standing transport partners, covering regions from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean.

For overseas projects in the US, UK, or Australia, we offer both sea freight and air freight solutions. Export paperwork, customs formalities, and DAP delivery can all be arranged by our logistics team.

Maintenance is simple: a breathable impregnator protects the surface, after which the floor requires little more than regular sweeping and damp mopping. We can supply suitable products and advice to ensure long-term durability.
