Antique Noir de Mazy church tiles 47 x 47 cm

Rare antique Noir de Mazy church floor tiles in a generous 47 x 47 cm (approx. 18.5" x 18.5") format – a limited batch of reclaimed Belgian black limestone tiles with a rich, historic patina, ideal for hallways, kitchens and living spaces.

This batch of antique church tiles is cut from Noir de Mazy, also known as Basecles or Namur limestone. The large 47 x 47 cm squares were reclaimed from historic churches and buildings in Belgium and offer a calm, monolithic look that works beautifully in grand entrance halls, country houses and high-end contemporary interiors.

Noir de Mazy is often referred to as the “black gold” of Belgium: a dense, fine-grained Belgian black limestone with a deep matt-black tone and subtle dark grey nuances. The surface shows an authentic aged patina and softly rounded edges created by decades of use, clearly distinguishing these reclaimed church tiles from newly produced replicas.

Thanks to the fixed 47 x 47 cm (approx. 18.5" x 18.5") format, these antique floor tiles are particularly suitable for hallways, kitchens, dining rooms and living spaces. Original thicknesses are up to around 7 cm; on request we can calibrate the tiles to approximately 3 cm at €47.50 per m² (excluding VAT), making them suitable for renovation projects and for use with underfloor heating.
